Mogy means Made of Grapes and Yeasts. It is wine in its simplest form of explanation. Wine is a very versatile beverage. One that you can savour on its own or that you may drink with your meal. There are no binding rules that tell you how you should drink your wine, perhaps with one exception, and that is to simply enjoy your wine. Mogy the Wine Grocer is a wine bottle shop in Horizon Hills, Nusajaya, and a purveyor of more than I5O labels of wine curated by Gerald, a Certified Sommelier and Certified Specialist of Wine. At Mogy, we do not wish our guests to get too tensed up when confronted by an assortment of cryptic looking wine labels. We have informative visuals and guides to help in your selection of wines. Besides, Gerald will be around to personnally introduce the wines to you. Mogy’s objective is that you find joy, and unwine yourself, in every bottle of wine

Wine comes in different styles and from many places. At Mogy, we have your usual classic Bordeaux and full-bodied Australian Shiraz. We supplement these wines with other wines from lesser known countries like Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Lebanon, Uruguay, and alternative varitals like Albariño, Furmint, Grüner Veltliner, Primitivo, Tannat, and rare indigenious grapes like Antão Vaz, Koshu, Plavac Mali, Trousseau. You will find, besides red and white wines, dessert wines, sparklings and fortified wines. This selection of wines is aimed to excite the palates of Mogy’s guests and we refresh the selection regularly with interesting new wines so that palates do not go stale. You will not have to travel the corners of the world to taste wines, but to just wine up at Mogy to experience the world-ful of wines.

At Mogy, we help you understand your wines through classes, workshops and tastings. You will have renew confidence navigating wine lists and speaking about wines after these classes, or at least, you will have more interests and knowledge of your wines.

W i N E S

Mogy has wines from I9 countries and more than 5O varietals. We have both the Old and New World wines, and we are constantly looking out for alternative wines, such as those from lesser known wine regions and even new latitude wines. Speaking about Old World wines is almost synonymously talking about Bordeaux and Burgundies. Besides French wines, Mogy also have wines from other Old World wine regions like Italy, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Austria, Hungary, and even Bulgaria and Croatia. new world wines, more often than not, are bold and fruit forward as opposed to the herbaceous, savoury old world. Power versus elegance, a very typical generalization that may not be so true nowadays. You are probably not alone to think that vines are grown and wines are made only in Europe, America and Down Under. There are however wines from Asia too. Mogy is pleased to showcase some of these Asian wines, notably from Lebanon, Japan and interestingly, India. Lebanon is technically classed as an Old World wine region with its history of winemaking dating back some 5OOO years ago. Modern winemaking began in Japan as early as in the I87Os and thus it has one of the longest winemaking history in western Asia. India, on the other hand, lays outside the latitudes where wine grapes can grow. These wines, from India, Thailand, Bali and Brazil, are termed the New Latitude wines, and they are fast emerging and gaining international recognition.
